I picked a rose
From the enchanted garden of truth
As days passed by
I realized it did not die,
Because I planted it in my heart
And the roses have grown wild
Never a thorn
Close enough to harm
Never a leaf fallen
Too far from home,
Blanketing a path
Of trust and beauty infinitely
In suffering,
My tears are as soft As my roses’ petals
Cradling me
With no abrasions…

Rummaging through thoughts like a pack rat It’s puzzling… All hell has broken loose in there… Echos stir, and stir. Hearing yourself think… Is the brink of solution, Or the birth of a poem!

untitled
i gathered myself up
Off of the floor
Like freshly raked leaves
One pile at a time
I wiped my tears
And rung out the towel
My puffy eyes
Pink as a pig
I cried my worries
Into a box
And sent them FedEx
To God
Without a return address
In quite a hurry, as if
I had no time to spare
My soul
It felt stripped bare
Like an autumn tree…

Quotes
Search inside and seek
Your problems and fears
Address them
So they don’t live with you anymore…
***
I eat but, I am always hungry
I am thirsty, but never drunk…
***
The distant cries of a child are as near to my heart as myself…

I M A G I N E
Imagine if everyone smiled at one another
As they would a baby in the arms of his mother
Imagine if cost was not consequential
Imagine if racism meant to love unconditionally, equally
Imagine if fear was just a word less used
Instead of a word abused
Imagine if your heart only ached with love
And never harbored repugnance
Imagine if selfishness
Wasn’t self righteous, but benevolent
Imagine if billboards and advertisements didn’t falsify happiness
Imagine all imaginable,
War would not exist….

A Whisper
A whisper inside
As light as a feather
As light as a candle
As bright as its fire
Its core is as blue
As a sorrow
Is as dark
When the breath
Takes it away
That the sun
Brings back tomorrow
In the feather of a bird
Of his wings wide open
In the whisper of the wind
He sings triumphantly
Beckoning only
What he knows is beauty
His song
Soaring onto ears,
Making wise of their years
Until the moon gives hope in darkness
A whisper inside
As light as a feather
As light as a candle
As bright as its fire
Its core…
